Viewmaster

This Viewmaster holds some vivid memories from my childhood trip to Corsica. My family always seemed to take the road less traveled (in more ways than one), and at the age of 8, I found myself in a small hotel on the rugged, rocky coastline outside the fortified town of Calvi. 
The day would start with the delivery of a tray of fresh croissants and a pot of cocoa made from steamed milk. My sister and I were in heaven.
By day, I explored the underwater world with a new snorkel set, and by evening, our handsome waiter would bring a fresh fish which I would hesitate just a moment before eating. As for the handsome waiter, my mother flirted mercilessly with him, which seemed fair, considering my father’s unfiltered enthusiasm for the beautiful topless women on the beach.
