About
I'm Jennifer Levy, founder and designer of Object Memory Home wallpaper.
These designs are inspired by my deep appreciation for the natural world, nostalgia, and the power of memory. My approach explores the intersection of design and storytelling. It's not about creating a pattern, but about creating resonance - evoking memories and good feelings.
There are no rules - mediums are mixed, techniques are varied. Everything starts as an experiment and often takes shape with the help of a ‘happy accident' - I've learned that in these unscripted moments something special happens.
I hope you will find your own connection with these wallpapers and they will bring beauty and comfort to your home. They are inspired by the larger story of our shared relationship with places and moments.
Object Memory
This is a photo of my grandmother Olga (Olly) Liepmann. She continues to be my muse and inspiration in design and art. Trained in Germany as a costume designer, she brought style, taste, and craft to every home she touched. Many of my happiest memories were of staying with my grandparents at their home near the beach - slipping between the crisp, sun dried sheets for a nap, lounging in their mid-century chairs, and enjoying leisurely meals with Danish tableware, Russell Wright dishes, and a smorgasbord of German wurst, dark bread, herring, and fresh tomatoes and cucumbers from the garden.
Her style was completely unselfconscious - she just used and lived with things she loved. Olly sewed every pillow, bolster, curtain, and slipcover in the house - all from simple, beautiful materials and tailored with subtle details.
After my grandparents passed away, I inherited some of their furniture and dishware. I loved living with these things because they were not only classic in design but because of the wonderful memories that accompanied them.
Object Memory encapsulates the idea that objects themselves carry their own narrative; the energy of the people who have created them, the lives of the people that have lived with them, the happy moments they evoke, and the inspiration that led them into being.
